"S" shaped writing box. Count Carlo Goldoni lived in the beautiful Palazzo Zantani in downtown Venice. He wrote over 250 comedies, many based on the Commedia dell' Arte characters. The Count was reputed to have his writing styluses ordered from the most skilled glass artist of Murano, where the Venetian glass industry was located since the 13th century.
In honor of Pulcinella, his favorite comedy character, this box containing a hand blown glass stylus with pen rest and indigo blue ink, was created. With a flourish.
