Skipjack

With it's sharply raked mast and it's distinctive hull shape the Skipjack used to be a familiar sight in the late 19th century in Long Island Sound and the Chesapeake Bay. Sailing out to harvest the extensive oyster beds or just going fishing they had a reputation for being fast and reliable under all types of weather. Local waters could be quite rough and choppy.
