Ship's carpenters had to make do with mahogany, but navigators custom-ordered Bone or Ivory rulers from London instrument makers for drawing and measuring. These are authentic replicas of rulers dating back to the early 1800s. They show inches on one side and centimeters on the other. They are hand-crafted in precious bleached bone.
