Early games made in ivory by master carvers and turners were often in red and white, or green and white combinations. Our game is an exact reproduction of an original made by John Calvert, a Master of the Worshipful Company of Turners in London in 1795.
The faux ivory set of 32 pieces comes in a beautiful hardwood box with an inlaid chessboard top. Made from mahogany, resin and brass. Colors are red, tan, brown and ivory. Size is 14.96 inches long by 14.96 inches wide and 4.33 inches deep.
