Cane Fireside Chair.
My great aunt Betty used to live in a house we called The Mansions, because of its large size and posh decor. Uncle Ludo was Italian, very clever and a banker. He dealt with Indian princes and always went to work in a taxi. Aunt Betty wasd presented on a special occassion with two used Rattan chairs from a visiting Nabob, which took her by surprise, since I guess she'd rather have the Koh-i-Noor. Anyway, the chairs also surprised with their comfort and looks, and Aunt Betty became quite attached to them. They soon took up a place of honor - on each side of the library hearth. My aunt and uncle continued to receive friends well into their ninties and the chairs were legendary in our family.
